Tasmania is separated from main land Australia by the 240 km stretch of Bass Strait. Beautiful yet wild, with pleasant people, climate and a relaxed lifestyle, Tasmania is a land of dramatic coastlines, rugged mountains, and tall forests and sparkling highland lakes.

Tasmania claims to breathe the world’s cleanest air and rejoice in pure water and fertile soils with wine and food acclaimed around the world. The coastline of Tasmania spreads over 3000km.

Tasmania is a network of National Parks and the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, a refuge and habitat for rare plants and animals roughly covering a third of the area of the island. There are more than 2000 km of walking tracks and 18 national parks. Tasmania is also the only place where a Tasmanian devil is visible, in the wild, and the largest lavender farm in the world is located in Tasmania.

The forests of Tasmania include some of the most unique species, which includes myrtle, black wood, sassafras, leatherwood, celery top pine, and include slow-growing Huon pines, with one specimen located on Mt Read, estimated to be up to 10,000 years old.

The main centers of Tasmania are the capital city of Hobart, Launceston, Burnie and Devonport. Tasmania has 68 golf courses in total, which is more than any other state in Australia. The oldest brewery of Australia, the Cascade brewery is located at Tasmania (Hobart).
